Investiga los factores asociados al acoso basado en prejuicios y a la victimización, presencial y en línea, de adolescentes de minorías étnicas y raciales, inmigrantes y jóvenes LGBTQ+. Esa línea sustenta las auditorías de convivencia y los programas de formación docente de ASSET orientados a prevenir la discriminación hacia minorías.
En 2024 dirigió, con la participación de Vicente J. Llorent, un estudio con 638 adolescentes afroamericanos de cuatro barrios desfavorecidos del South Side de Chicago: quienes percibían a sus profesores como atentos y cercanos mostraron menos conductas de acoso y de violencia, incluso tras experiencias adversas.
Ha coeditado con Vicente J. Llorent, Robert Thornberg (Suecia) y Ziqiang Han (China) Bullying: Global Case Studies in Policy and Prevention for Young People (Edward Elgar, 2026), que analiza el acoso escolar en 110 países y sociedades.
